50 So What community rallies to help women’s shelter

A selection of donations from readers and our brand partners.

A massive thankyou to the 50 So What community.

Your generous support has enabled us to drop off a car load of essential supplies to the Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter (NBWS) in Sydney in the lead up to Christmas.

Moved by the distressing news that women in their 50s are the fastest growing cohort amongst the homeless in 2021, publisher Jo put the call-out on her Instagram page for help.

Within days we were flooded with donations of essential supplies of t-shirts, bed sheets and diaries for the shelter, which is a safe haven, supporting homeless women so they can rebuild their lives, reclaim their independence and rejoin society.

Our brand partners Ecosa and Adrift were also quick to jump on board with bedding and clothing, respectively.

“We can’t thank you enough; your support has been truly inspiring,” says Jo.

“It breaks my heart to think that there are so many midlife women facing these types of challenges.”

Jo is now hoping to do another call-out for donations in 2022.

Stay tuned.
